Crape Myrtle

Common crape myrtle is a deciduous, erect, multi-trunked, tree or shrub in the loosestrife family (Lythraceae). It requires full sun and moist, well-drained soil. A rapid grower, that can reach 30 feet in height and width. Best to prune in late winter or spring before new growth starts. It blooms from July to September.
